Rhythm ROM and her son- CH. Power winning: WD, BOW, Best Bred By, and BOS!!!
By far, one of my proudest moments. This is Rhythm, surrogate mother to
13 orphaned Akita puppies
who tragically
lost their own mother CH. Shu-Ku's U Ain't Seen Nut N Yet CGC TDI-
"Witchy" during an emergancy
c-section on 5-23-01. At the time, Rhythm had nine of her own
6 weekold puppies. Knowing what
a stable temeperment she had, and what a great mother she was,
I sent her to New Jersey too
take care of these babies. She jumped right into
the task at hand, and Linda and
Franks bed! Thank You Rhythm, you were truley "The Queen".
I am VERY proud and honored to
have had you.
On December 22, 2002, a terrible
tragedy occured , it was in fact the darkest hour in my life yet.
My beautiful, sweet, and very very special girl , foundation and love of
my life "Rhythm" lost her life during a
C-Section to retrieve the
5 puppies left inside of her, that she was having trouble giving birth
to.
She had already had 3 on her
own. The pain and grief are almost more than I can bare.
This was to be her last litter,
and I was anxiously anticipating her retirement, showing her in Brood Bitch
and Vetrans classes. She was
my "perfect dog", and every day I had her was purejoy. For those lucky
enough to have met her- they
know what I'm saying. She truely was ~one of a kind~.
This loss is the worst twist
of fate imagionable.
In May of 2001, Frank and Linda
Ingemi lost their own beautiful bitch "Witchy" the EXACT same way, and
I was fortunate enough to have
had the opportunity to help them, and I knew she'd be just the bitch to
help.
She didn't dissapoint me(never
did before anyhow).
Well, as the saying goes "what
comes around, goes around". I've been fourtanate enough to be
surrounded by good friends and
caring people, ncluding fellow Akita folks- who immidiately came to my
aid.
You really do find out who your
friends are in times of need.
I would like to thank each and
everyone of you for your help, and particularly Coleman Nemerov &
Laurie White for their offerings
and help, and Jodi Engel who offered me her bitch to take home and
surrogate my orphans.
I won't forget that.The emptyness
Rhythm leaves behind is beyond words...............
Rhythm thanks you- and I thank you.
"Hailey" and my own 8 orphans
